Anne Gideon Richardson, a native of Mobile and resident of Fairhope passed away peacefully June 16, 2021 at her residence. Born in Mobile September 25, 1924, she lived a long and blessed life. Anne is predeceased by her parents Richard Phelon Gideon and Margaret Emily McDonald Gideon, her husband of 58 years William Cullen Richardson and infant Margaret Anne Richardson. Also she was predeceased by her siblings Sr Constance Gideon DC, Richard Phelon Gideon Jr., Margaret Gideon and Carolyn Patricia Gideon. She is survived by her remaining 4 children William Cullen Richardson Jr. (Anne) of Mobile, Richard Daniel Richardson (Sherry) of Pawleys Island, SC, Mimi Richardson Snider (Brian) of Fairhope and Paul Joseph Richardson of Fairhope. She is also survived by her sister Mary Frances Sullivan (Jack) and her 10 grandchildren Joseph McPherson III (Eun Jeong), Ben McPherson, Beth McPherson Higdon (Glen), Julia McPherson Mahatekar (Parag), Emily Snider Harvey (Kyle), Richard Daniel Richardson Jr. (Kristen) Mary Emily Wood (Don), Christopher Matthew Richardson (Blair) , Hunter Paul Richardson(Shelby), Blair Richardson Ervin (Anthony) . Anne had 20 Great Grandchildren. Anne could best be described as a lover of life having been blessed with 97 years. She attended St. Mary's School and the Convent of Mercy graduating with the Class of 1942.. She was an extremely outgoing and loving person who rarely met a stranger with hosts of dear friends in all the places she lived. She lived in Mobile until 1975 and moved to Greensboro NC. Anne and Bill retired to Fairhope in 1991. Anne was President of the Baldwin County Seniors Travel group. She and Bill travelled and cruised extensively during their post retirement years together. Anne was a devout Catholic and was an active participant in church ministries in all the locations she lived. She was a parishioner of St Lawrence Church in Fairhope at the time of her passing. She was active at Holy Family School in Mobile during her children's education there. She and Bill were some of the earliest members of Skyline Country Club where she was quite the competitive left handed golfer. She was an extremely accomplished seamstress, bridge player, world class cook and entertainer. She was at her best entertaining friends and family even up until shortly before her death. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to so many people in her life. Her positive memories will be shared by all she touched in her long life. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and We Care Private Sitters. In particular, special thanks to her caregivers Nora Miller, Trina Miller and Alicia Burden for their kind, loving attention and expert care they provided in her final days. There will be a private family interment of her cremains at Belforest Cemetery in Daphne, July 9th. There will be a Memorial Mass Saturday July 10th at 1100am at St Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her memory to St Lawrence Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
