Andrew Jackson Taylor, age 91, a native of Brewton, AL and a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022. Mr. Taylor was born legally blind. However, he never let this impairment hold him back. He made it his mission to serve with the Lion’s Club (a club that helps people with visual impairment) for many, many years. He graduated Murphy High School; was a volunteer for the local Arts & Crafts, and was a member of Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church. Although he was unable to serve in the military, he did work for the government at Pensacola Naval Base. He was able to leave his job at the age of 55 and therefore enjoyed 36 years of retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Lucille Taylor. Mr. Taylor is survived by his daughter, Leigh Anne Taylor Lightfoot of Fairhope; grandchildren, Haygen Edlund and Hunter Dean Lightfoot; many other relatives and friends. His sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 11:00am until 12:00pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope. His family would like to thank The Brennity Assisted Living Facility in Daphne for all the love and support they showed during Mr. Taylor’s last six years that he lived there. He always said he felt like they were his family. A special thanks to his closest caregivers, Abram, Leslie and Tessie! We could not have done it without you guys.
