Cana McKee Wiggins

TUSCALOOSA Cana McKee Wiggins passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 in Daphne at the age of 87. She was a native of Batesville, MS and a resident of Tuscaloosa. Mrs. Wiggins was a graduate of Northwest Junior College and went on to graduate frrom Mississippi College in 1944 with a Bachelors Degree in English. She later went on to receive her Masters degree from the University of Alabama in Library Education in 1969. Mrs. Wiggins was a former member of Forest Lake Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa and a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa. She was a member of Here Study Club, Friends of Tuscaloosa Public Library and the Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by a son, Dr. Warner M. Wiggins and his wife Julie of Fairhope, AL, daughter, Carolyn Wiggins of Arlington, VA, 4 grandchildren, Lara Wiggins of Magnolia Springs, AL, Luke Wiggins of Mobile, AL, Warner M. Wiggins, Jr., and John Griffin Wiggins, both of Fairhope, AL. A graveside service will be held Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11:30 am, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the graveside at the University Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tuscaloosa Public Library or the First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa Public Library.
