Samuel Burbage Gilreath, Jr.

FAIRHOPE, AL. Samuel "Sammy" Burbage Gilreath, Jr., Age 89, died on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at his residence. Sammy was a WWII veteran and a longtime resident of Mobile. After retiring from the Corps of Engineers  he moved to Fairhope.   Mr. Gilreath is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Santa Cruz Gilreath; two sons, Richard Samuel Gilreath and Gary Lee Gilreath. Survivors include his wife, Mary Minto Gilreath of Fairhope, AL; one daughter, Julie Gilreath Wolfe of Fairhope, AL; three sons, Steve (Diane) Gilreath of Daphne, AL, Larry (Beth) Gilreath of Fairhope, AL and Robby (Lori) Gilreath of Nolensville, TN; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Gilreath of Malbis, AL; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four step-sons, one step-daughter; nine step-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.   A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 12:00PM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fairhope.
