Joyce Litton Phillips

Joyce Litton Phillips, Age 86, passed away with her son by her side on November 18, 2010 in Fairhope, AL. A native of Litton, MS., Mrs. Phillips was a 1945 honors graduate of Ole Miss as the first women ever elected president of the School of Business. With her husband, Peter Phillips she lived in Brookhaven, MS for many years where their only child, John Peter Phillips, Jr was raised. She was member of the First Methodist Church of Brookhaven and had fond memories of her years there. Following the death of her husband in 1989, Mrs. Phillips moved to New Orleans where many happy new memories were made. She was involved with a number of senior activity groups , made new friends, and was proud to be a Saints season ticket holder. She was forced to leave New Orleans only by the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. In addition to her husband, John Peter Phillips she was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Kathleen McCarty Litton, her brother, Larry Adrian Litton and her beloved sister, Patricia Litton Craig. She is survived by her son and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 2:00PM at Lake Lawn Park, New Orleans, LA.
