Hugh McCaffrey

FAIRHOPE, ALHugh Charles McCaffrey passed away Friday, November 26, 2010 in Fairhope at the age of 95. He was a native of Cleveland, OH and a resident of Fairhope. Mr. McCaffrey retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1974 and was a member of the Retired Officers Association. He is survived by a son, Brian J. (Sylvia Yee) McCaffrey of San Francisco, CA; a daughter, Charlotte L. (Phyllis Hoffman) of El Cerrito, CA; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew McCaffrey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leatrice S. McCaffrey and a son, Phillip McCaffrey. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 2-4 pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Poverty Law Center, 400 Washington Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36104.
