Atha McGehee LaFlam

SPANISH FORT Atha McGehee LaFlam passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 in Fairhope at the age of 95. She was a native of Bogalusa, LA, former resident of Louisville, KY and a longtime resident of Baldwin County. Mrs. LaFlam was one of the original nurses that assisted in the founding of Holmes Hospital in Foley. She then married Walter Lewis LaFlam in 1937. Mrs. LaFlam was a member of Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Presbyterian Women's Circle Group. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mrs. LaFlam was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lewis LaFlam and two sisters, Eliza McGehee Foil and Dora McGehee Burk. A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 10 am from Montrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church, 6620 Spanish Fort Blvd, Spanish Fort, AL 36527.
