Edgar Clement Henson passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Fairhope at the age of 84. He was a native of Hawthorn, AL and a resident of Daphne. Mr. Henson was born May 6, 1926 to the late, James Carey Henson and the late, Nancy Morton Henson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Henson retired from Scott Paper Company in 1988 as an electrician/instrument technician. He was a longtime avid HAM Radio operator and a member of Spanish Trail Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Betsy B. Henson of Daphne; two sons, Edgar Carey (Sherri) Henson of Mobile, Lawrence Scott (Karen) Henson of Daphne; stepdaughter, Diane (James) Dailey of Decatur; stepson, David T. Newell of Arlington, VA; two sisters, Irene (David) Parks of Shreveport, LA, Nancy (Danny) Singleton of Millry; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Henson and a brother, James Carey Henson A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Spanish Trail Baptist Church.
