Thomas (Tom) Bennett passed away peacefully at home in Fairhope, AL after a long illness, Friday, October 29, 2010. He leaves behind his wife of forty-nine and a half years, Carol Rogers Bennett; his son, Steven Bennett of Ashtabula, OH; his daughter, Barbara Bennett Vendeville, son-in-law and his second son, Charles (Charlie) Vendeville; grandchildren, Matthew and Cara Vendeville of Perry, OH; sister-in-law, Patricia Parkin of Temple, TX and many friends. Tom was born in Cleveland Heights, OH February 2, 1941 in East Cleveland, OH. Tom worked for twenty years at the Cleveland Plain Dealer Newspaper and twenty years at the Lubrizol Corp, Painesville, OH. Tom and Carol retired to their home in Fairhope, AL in 1999. Tom loved playing golf with his many friends. He was a carver and wood turner and a member and past president of Azalea Wood Turner's Club. Tom and Carol are members at St. Paul's Eastern Shore Church, Daphne, AL. They enjoyed snorkeling and traveled to many warm and wonderful places together. A memorial service may be scheduled at a later date. The family wished to thank St. Paul's parishioners, wonderful Father Thack, St. Paul's Thrift Shop, many churches of different denominations and several synagogues in many states, Saad's Home Health and Hospice, Diversified Home Health Care, Fairhope, AL, Thomas Hospital, Fairhope, AL, South Baldwin Hospital, Foley, AL, his amazing doctors and mulititude of friends for their skill, patience, love and support. May God bless you all. Lord thank-you for gifting us with the most amazing children and grandchildren anyone could ask for.
