Allen Matthew Barber

      DAPHNE Allen Matthew Barber, age 19, passed away Wednesday morning, October 27, 2010.  Allen was born March 14, 1991 in Birmingham, AL and was a resident of Daphne, AL. He was a 2009 graduate of Daphne High School and was a member of Daphne United Methodist Church.  Allen was a sophomore at the University of Montevallo. He was very active in the church and school choirs along with the drama clubs, where he was lead actor in numerous plays.  Allen was selected to be a member of the Alabama All State Choir seven consecutive years.  He received the Merit Of Outstanding Accomplishment in Choir in 2009 from Daphne High School.  Allen was also a member of the Chamber Singers Choir at the University of Montevallo. Allen is survived by his parents Lydia and Jeff Barber;  two brothers, Taylor and Jackson Barber,  all of Daphne;  grandparents, Marian and W.O. Lance, Clarence Barber, all of Lanett, AL, Sally Whitlock of Madison, AL;  great grandmother, Ruth McClure of Lanett, AL; aunts and uncles, Ellen Baldwin , Dale and Beth Bowen, Robbie Barber, all of Lanett, AL,  Mike and Amy Hanson of Brooks, GA; cousins, Nicki and Matt Bassman of St. Louis, MO, Sara and Bret Lyttle of Niceville, FL,  Daniel and Kelli Bowen, Tim Bowen, Josh Baldwin, Zack Bowen, Katie Bowen,  all of LaGrange, GA,  Carli, Cody and Trent Barber, all of Lanett, AL and  Ashley, Meagan and Christopher Hanson, all of Brooks, GA. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Whitlock. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 3:30 pm at Daphne United Methodist Church Community Life Center, 2401 Main Street, Daphne, Alabama. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until time of the service.
