GULF SHORES, AL John A. Moore of Gulf Shores, Alabama died suddenly on September 23rd while touring Athens and the Greek islands with his wife. He died on the island of Santorini.  Jack was 70. Jack was the devoted husband of Mary Ann Coyle Moore.  Born in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Michael Moore and Anna Nauroth Moore.  Mr. Moore graduated from St. Leo High School (Ashley, PA), Wilkes College (Wilkes-Barre, PA), and the Western New England College of Law (Springfield, MA). Mr. Moore began his professional career in retailing and held senior management positions in Human Resources with Montgomery Ward and Sweet Life Foods as well as W.R. Grace & Company.  After obtaining his law degree, he joined the law firm of Siler and Jonap in Atlanta, GA.  He later went on to open a private practice in both Norcross and Gainesville, Georgia.  In 1999, he and his wife retired to Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Jack had a deep interest in sports as well as history and had a passion for travel.  But his devotion to his wife and family superseded all.  A deeply devoted Roman Catholic from his days as an altar boy, Jack practiced his faith every day and was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Jack will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ann. He is survived by his children, Sean Anthony Moore and his wife Patti (Buford, GA), Eileen Moore Francis and her husband Terry (Kennesaw, GA), Michael Moore and his wife Tammy (Cummings, GA).  Also surviving are six grandchildren, Seana Francis, Ryan Moore, Patrick Moore, Will Hammond, Caffrey Francis, and Adam Moore, and two great grandchildren, Connor Robinson and Sean Michael Moore.  Jack is also survived by his brother Thomas Moore and his wife Linda (Hershey, PA) and family as well as his three sisters-in-law, Marlene Coyle (Ashley, PA), Jane Coyle Smith (Dallas, PA), and Kathleen Coyle Achorn and her husband Peter (Doylestown, PA). Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Gulf Shores, AL, Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Prince of Peace Cemetery, Elberta, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to John A. Moore Fund, Mary’s Shelter, P. O. Box 18, Elberta, AL 36520.
