FAIRHOPE William Charles Gravat, Jr., age 81, a native of Baldwin County and a resident of Fairhope, died Saturday, September 25, 2010. Mr. Gravat sold insurance for 50 years and enjoyed meeting new people, turning clients into life-long friends. His personal philosophy was “walk in integrity and you will walk securely.” Mr. Gravat was a member of the Fairhope United Methodist Church and various community organizations. He was an avid Auburn Tigers supporter and golfer. He was a devoted family man. He is survived by hisloving wife of 61 years, Ruby Soesbe Gravat of Fairhope,daughter, Valerie Rodriguez of Cocoa Beach, FL,son, Matthew Gravat and his wife Shonda of Eustis, FL,daughter-in-law, Diane Gravat of Fairhope,six grandchildren, Michelle Gravat Rains,Mallory Rodriguez, Ashley Rodriguez, Aleah Gravat,Brad Gravat, Landon Gravat,three great grandchildren, Emma Grace Rains,James Charles Gravat and Chad William Gravat. Mr. Gravat was preceded in death by hisson, William Charles “Chuck” Gravat. The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope Chapel, Monday, September 27, 2010, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
