FOLEYGeorge David Stewart, age 92, a native of Mobile and a longtime resident of Foley, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010. George was a member of Foley First Baptist Church for 60 years and a deacon for many years. His hobbies were hunting and fishing. He moved to Baldwin County to pursue his hobbies when he was 20 years old. He became a successful farmer and cattleman. He was a director of Robertsdale Stockyard for many years. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, David A. Stewart and Irene McCoy Stewart, sisters, Margaret Hanks, Dorothy Stewart, and brother Paul Stewart. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Margaret McKenzie Stewart of Foley, loving daughter, Susan Perkins and her husband Gene, two precious grandchildren, Stewart McKenzie Perkins, Meg Suzanne Perkins, all of Montrose, a dear sister-in-law, Gladys McKenzie, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, last but not least, his church family and pastor whom he loved dearly. Funeral services will be held from the Foley First Baptist Church, Friday, August 27, 2010, at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30am until the service time.
