DAPHNE Paul C. Palmer died at home on Thursday, August 19, 2010. He was born in Columbia, MS, November 30, 1930, the third son of six children of Edgar and Mildred Palmer. Paul played halfback at Hattiesburg HS in MS, ran track at USM and MSU. He was an engineering graduate from Mississippi State. He served his country on the USS Boxer during the Korean War. Paul married Jean Caver Palmer of Pascagoula, MS in 1955 and had four children: Karen Palmer Lambuth of Daphne, Daniel Palmer of Daphne, the late Patti Palmer of Pascagoula, and Barbie Palmer Slade of Hattiesburg, MS. He had two wonderful grandchildren: Lauren Lambuth of Daphne and Austin Slade of Hattiesburg, MS. Paul lived with his family in Pascagoula, MS for many years before moving to Daphne, AL. He also has three surviving siblings: Cecil Palmer of Madison, MS, Helen Odom of Hattiesburg, MS, and Jenna Lewis of Pensacola, FL. A Holy Eucharist and memorial service will be held for Paul Monday, August 23, 2010 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, AL at 11:00 AM with a visitation and luncheon following in the fellowship hall.
