LILLIAN The family of Raymond Earl "Red" Diamond, Sr., of Lillian, Alabama regret to report his passing on June 6, 2010, after a valiant fight against the ravages of time. He was a well known and accomplished musician who will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Born August 1, 1934 in Jay, Florida, he grew up in Pensacola, the son of Jack S. and Virlon Davidson Diamond, who preceded him in death along with his sister, Barbara Jean and Eugene Stanley. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 53 years, Dorothy Wolfe Diamond, their three children, Denise Barr and her husband Clifton of Lillian, Raymond Earl Diamond, Jr., and his wife Renee of Pfafftown, North Carolina, and Jack H. Diamond and his wife Sherron of Seminole, AL, eight grandchildren, Ian and Kyle Barr, Jennifer Ashford, Jeremy Davis, Troy Davis and Raymond Earl Diamond, III, Brandy Diamond Booth and Sherron N. Diamond (Ryan) Ashcraft, eight great-grandchildren, his sisters, Patricia Carpenter and her husband Richard, Mary Lane and her husband Ty, and his brother, John Diamond and his wife Dee, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and a special uncle, Hartley Davidson and his wife Peggy. A Celebration of Life Service for family and close friends will be held at his home on Saturday, June 12, 2010, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to the charities of their choice.
