Arlene E. McCool

ELBERTA Arlene E McCool, age 73, a native of Michigan and a resident of Elberta, AL, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 in Elberta, AL. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life centered on God and her family. She appreciated the simple things in life like gardening, cooking, and walks on the beach. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark A. McCool and a daughter, Diane M. McCool. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gerald McCool of Elberta, AL; four children, Dr. Gerald B. (Mary) McCool of El Paso, TX, Dr. Kathleen Janowski McCool of Foley, AL, Sherrie McCool (Dan) Bott of Elberta, AL, and Jeffery P. (Kristin) McCool of Hobbs, NM; nine grandchildren, Logan, Atheal, Mark, August, Audrey, Brevin, Teagan, Dakota, and Conlin. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 2-4 pm at St . Margaret's Queen of Scotland Catholic Church in Foley. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4 pm from the church. An interment service will be held at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Community Hospice, Foley, AL or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org).
