David Deese Chatwood

MOBILE, AL David Deese Chatwood, Sr., Age 64,died peacefully at his Mobile residence Thursday, March 25, 2010. He was a graduate of Fairhope High School where he excelled in athletics and was named All American and proceeded to play football at the University of Alabama where he played on two of the national championship football games, he had the opportunity of playing in the Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, and Cotton Bowl under coach Paul "Bear" Byrant. He was currently working for Mobile Asphalt. Being an avid outsdoorsman throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Alabama football with his family and friends. Mr. Chatwood is preceded in death by his father, D.T. Chatwood, Sr., and his mother, Mary Sue Chatwood. He is survived by his loving companion, Linda Hoppe and her family, Betsy Dykes, Shane Dykes and Ashley Burke. One son, Deese (Kim) Chatwood, Jr., and their daughter, Mai Mai all of Fairhope, AL; one brother, Dan T. Chatwood, Jr., and his children, Rebecca, Rachel and Daniel; other family and many friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope from 1:00PM until time of the service at 3:00PM in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Fairhope High School Athletic Department or Fairhope High School Football, 1 Pirate Drive, Fairhope, AL. 36532 Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
