Sylvia Shepherd Kirksey

ROBERTSDALE Sylvia Shepherd Kirksey, age 74, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, former resident of Leland, Mississippi, and a long time resident of Robertsdale, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 22, 2010. Mrs. Kirksey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort.  She was a graduate of Bob Jones University and a school teacher for many years at Greystone Christian School, Mobile, and also taught at Bethany Christian School, Whistler, Shiloh Christian School, Saraland, and Faith Presbyterian School, Robertsdale. She is survived by her husband of  50 years, James Jackson Kirksey, of Robertsdale, and her sons, Dr. Franklin Lee Kirksey and his wife Sharon S. of Spanish Fort, James Frederick Kirksey and his wife Julie H., of Conyers, Georgia, three grandsons, Caleb Andrew, Nathan Frederick, and Seth Franklin, all of Conyers, Georgia, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 10:00 am from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Interment will be at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley, AL. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Children’s Ministry of the First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort, Alabama.
