BRUNSON FAIRHOPE   Joseph Talmadge Brunson was born to Bettye Raley and Claude Brunson on October 7, 1952, in Mobile.  Joe graduated from Davidson High School and then the University of South Alabama with a BA degree in English.  He received his Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham in 1981.   Since that time, he has been a practicing attorney in Mobile.  He made his residence on Fowl River and proclaimed it Black Dog Point, in honor of his cherished Labrador Retriever, Roscoe.  He enjoyed spending time on the river and fishing offshore, but most recently loved to lose himself in the woods of Marengo County, deer hunting with family and friends.   He is preceded in death by his father, Claude Brunson, step-father, Marion Raley, Sr., and little brother, Willie Raley.   He is survived by his mother, Bettye Raley, life long friend and companion, Judy Roe Harold,  3 daughters, Caitlin Harold Walters, Katie Brunson, Micki Brunson, 2 stepchildren, Amber Harold and Alden Harold, sister, Sandy Hillman, 3 brothers, Mike (Darlene) Brunson, Richard (Dorothy) Brunson, Marion (Tracie) Raley, Jr., and sister-in-law, Alice Raley, 12 nieces and nephews, countless close friends and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter, MaKayla.   A celebration of Joe’s life was held by his family.  Friends are asked to make a donation to Saint Mary’s Home (251-344-7733) or The Mitchell Cancer Institute (251-460-0732) on behalf of Joe in lieu of flowers.
