MONTROSE Samuel I. Hinote passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Mobile at the age of 67. He was a native of Robertsdale, AL, and a resident of Montrose, AL. Mr. Hinote graduated in 1965 from Auburn University with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Administration and a Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics, 1967. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho and Phi Kappa Phi Fraternities. He held various executive positions in the farm-raised catfish industries with ConAgra, Inc., Omaha, NE; Delta Pride Catfish, Indianola, MS, where he was featured in Forbes Magazine; Fishbelt Feeds, Inc. Moorehead, MS; Blue Waters Catfish Processors, LLC, Demopolis, AL. Mr. Hinote was a member of the National Fish and Seafood Promotional Council, appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. He received the Governor's Bronze Glove Award for industrial contribution to the economy of the state of Mississippi. Mr. Hinote was a Sunday School teacher for eleven years and a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Fairhope. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Ren Alford Hinote of Montrose; two sons, Lt. Col. Clint (Myra) Hinote of Enid, OK; David Hinote of Montrose; one daughter Amy Hinote Mutual of Orange Beach; two brothers, Hubert (Diane) Hinote of Fairhope, Jim (Sherry) Hinote of Silverhill; three grandchildren, Meg, Hunter and Holly Hinote of Enid, OK, and a host of other loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, March 8, 2010, from 6-8 pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 11 am from the First Baptist Church of Fairhope with Dr. Jerry Henry officiating. Mr. Hinote will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Montrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairhope, Building Fund, 300 S. Section St., Fairhope, AL 36532.
