Joanah Rose Rush

RUSH Joanah Rose Rush passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 in Daphne, AL. Joanah was born Dec. 15, 1921 to the late Ed and Hattie Hull of Taylorsville, MS. She received a Diploma of Theology from Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Ft. Worth, TX in 1953. Joanah considered it a joy serving as a pastor's wife in Laurel, MS, Tallahassee, FL, and Foley, AL. She served as a missionary in Montana, Indiana, Senegal, Japan and Spain. After her retirement, she found great fulfillment serving as leader of women's mission program at First Baptist Church, Fairhope, AL. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Warren H. Rush of Fairhope, AL; three children, JoAnn (Lester) McCullough of Jacksonville, FL, Dale (Cherry) Rush of Thomaston, GA, Deborah (Freddy) Davis of Tallahassee, FL; five grandchildren, Melody Revell, David Rush, John Rush, Philip Rush and Ken Davis; one great grandson, Logan Revell; a sister, Dorrence (Wilson) Stewart; a brother, Rupert (Jeannette) Hull. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ennis and Thomas Hull. Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 5-7 pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Funeral services will be Friday, March 5, 2010 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church of Fairhope, Fairhope, AL. Joanah will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Montrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Fairhope, IMB Missions,300 S.
