Cecil D. Coate

SPANISH FORT Cecil D. Coate passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in Spanish Fort at the age of 84. He was a native of Coffeeville and a resident of Spanish Fort. Mr. Coate was a U.S. Marine veteran of WWII. He retired from Scott Paper Company in 1988 and was a longtime member of Spanish Fort United Methodist Church. Mr. Coate is survived by a daughter, Wanda Cooper of Bromley; five sisters, Myrtie E. Fountain of Mobile, Jeanette Williamson of Saraland, Anna Townsend of Grand Bay, Effie Byrd of Satsuma, Judy Autry of Coffeeville; one brother, James R. Coate, Sr. of Coffeeville; three grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Jubilee Memorial Gardens, Daphne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spanish Fort United Methodist Church, 6530 Spanish Fort Blvd., Suite D, Spanish Fort, AL 36527.
