Robert Earle Pearson

FAIRHOPE   Robert Earle Pearson died February 14, 2010 in Fairhope , AL .  He was 81 years old. A native of Brookline , Massachusetts , and a graduate of that school system, he spent his later years in Palatine , Illinois .  Upon retirement in 1992, he and his wife Janet moved to Fairhope , Alabama .   A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as an enlisted man and later received his commission retiring with the rank of Captain (Surface Warfare).  During this service he had seven commands.   In his civilian career, he was employed by a major property and casualty insurance company devoting most of his efforts to marketing and systems support.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University in Boston , the   Insurance Designation of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and, is a past-President of The Society of Insurance Research.   He is survived by sons Todd and Keith, daughters Amy Merwin and Kim Pearson, and four grandchildren.   Graveside services and interment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola , Florida , on Thursday, February 18, 2010, at 12:30 pm.   Memorials may be made in his name to Friends of Thomas Hospital, Fairhope , Alabama .   ARRANGMEMENTS BY WOLFE-BAYVIEW FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, INC. 19698 GREENO ROAD FAIRHOPE , AL 36532
