John Morgan Bemis

GULF SHORES John Morgan Bemis, age 76, a native of Bon Secour, AL, and a resident of Oyster Bay, AL, passed away Friday, January 15, 2010. Mr. Bemis was a member of the Oyster Bay Baptist Church. He was a member of the Foley Masonic Lodge 766; Abba Shrine Temple, Mobile, AL; Scottish Rite, Mobile, AL; and Foley Chapter 142 of the O. E. S. He served in the United States Air Force for eight years. He retired after twenty-eight years with AT&T. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Juanita Pierce Bemis of Oyster Bay, AL; daughter, Pam (Robert) Petersen of Summerdale, AL; son, JohnE. (Leigh) Bemis of Foley, AL; grandson, Daniel (Diana) Petersen of Summerdale, AL; great-grandson, Garrett Petersen; brother, A. G. (Bobbi) Bemis of Oyster Bay, AL; faithful companion, Mullet; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 17, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley, AL. Services will be held Monday, January 18, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
