MOBILE, ALMs. Jo-Ann Gaston, age 74 of Mobile, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2017. She was born Hunter Jo-Ann Cole in Philadelphia, Mississippi, the daughter of Hunter and Bonnie Cole on March 19, 1942. Jo-Ann established her family with Bob Hardy, Jr. on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and had two children, Hunter and Jill Hardy. She received a B.S. Degree in Business from the University of Southern Mississippi and worked for the Federal Government for several years. Jo-Ann relocated to Mobile, Alabama and continued to work for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Mobile. After her retirement, she became an active real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway Cooper Realtors.Jo-Ann's life will continue to be celebrated by her brother, LTC. Perry Cole U.S. Army, (Ret) and his family. Her children: Mr. Hunter Hardy, his wife Judy and his four children. Jo-Ann's daughter, Ms. Jill Rawls and her children, Morgan, Blake, and Colby Rawls who reside in Mobile, AL. She was very ambitious with her work, while still being a dedicated, loving mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren will remember her as a lively, motivated person who always had so much love to give. Jo-Ann enjoyed going to the gym, writing in her journal, and reading the Bible. She loved her dogs and watching the sunset on her porch with her many great friends. "Josie" as she was called by her grandchildren, made a difference in every life she touched and brought a smile to everyone’s face. She was a pure JOY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 4:00 pm at St. Ignatius Church, 2704 Springhill Avenue, Mobile, AL. 36608. Following the service, a reception and celebration of her life will be hosted at the Bamboo Steak House Restaurant, located next to "Josie's little house on the lake", 630 South Cody Road, Mobile, AL 36995. Please join all together to toast Josie for a sunset on her lake as she would have it …. with her friends and family. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jo-Ann's life. Graveside services to be held with immediate family and close friends on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS.
