Sammie White Rice

SUMMERDALE, ALSammie Lee White RiceAugust 16, 1930 – February 24, 2017The youngest born to J.B. and Addie Lee White in Birmingham, AL. She married Charles Rice of Summerdale, AL. She went everywhere her Air Force husband went for 22 ½ years. They retired to Baldwin County, AL in 1971, and joined Calvary Baptist Church in 1972. She worked alongside the love of her life at Camp Baldwin for 8 years. She is best remembered by her servant spirit to God, husband, family, and community. Always ready to set another place at the table.She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles Rice, and son Wayne Rice. Sammie is survived by her three daughters, Charlotte Pettis, (Mike) Summerdale, AL, Bonita Crist (Bill) of Cadiz, KY, Liz Spears (Pat) of West Palm Beach, FL.
