DAPHNE, ALJohn Edward Hampton, age 90, a former resident of St. Louis, MO and a resident of Daphne, AL passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017.John was a US Navy veteran serving in WWII. He was the former Harbor Master at the Lake Forest Yacht Club and a former marshal at the Lake Forest Golf Club, Daphne, AL.He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hampton and parents, Edgar and Ethel Hampton and 3 brothers, Donald, Harald and Albert Hampton.John is survived by his daughter, Linda M. (Ernest) Nicholas of Pontoon Beach, IL; 4 siblings: Edgar A. (Joan) Hampton, Jr. of St. Louis, MO, Betty (Gerry) McKinney of Sullivan, MO, Ralph O. Hampton of Lehigh, FL, Ethel Ann Hampton of St. Louis, MO; 4 grandchildren: Charity (Jason) Snell of Centralia, MO, Michelle (Scott) Schreck of Boseman, MT, Justin (Jennifer) Cropper of Corpus Christi, TX, Jennifer Cropper of St. Louis, MO; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.A Celebration of John’s Life will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne.
