Nancy Christina Morris

DAPHNE, ALNancy Christina Morris of Daphne, AL died on February 3, 2017 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL.  Born in 1938 in Canastota, New York to Michael A. and Sarah Sykes Becker, she graduated from Canastota High School and attended Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  After her marriage in 1958 to James M. Morris, she and their family moved from Michigan to West Virginia, Ohio, Rhode Island and Virginia before retiring to Daphne in 2006.  She received a B.A. degree from Christopher Newport University in 1979 and a M.A. in Humanities from Old Dominion University in 1985.  She was employed in the hospitality industry, holding positions at the James River Country Club in Newport News, VA and Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA until her retirement in 2005.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. James M. Morris; four sons: Patrick (Tammy) of Verona, VA; Michael (Teresa) of San Antonio, TX; John (Sondra) of Cordova, TN; and Joseph (Carole) of Irving, TX; two daughters: Anne Christensen (Mark) of Andalusia, AL, and Mary Jane Hochderffer (Gregg) of Jefferson, SD; and 34 grandchildren.  She is also survived by two brothers: Michael Becker of Southampton Station, PA and Stephen Becker of Oneida, NY; and one sister, Susan Spencer, also of Oneida, NY. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, 27409 US Hwy 98, Daphne, AL 36526.  A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne, AL.  Interment will follow at Belforest Catholic Cemetery, Daphne, AL.
