Mildred Havel Engstrom

FAIRHOPE, AL Mildred Emma Havel Engstrom, age 95, a native of Silverhill, AL and a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017. Mrs. Engstrom was a teacher at Silverhill School for many years. She was a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church, ARTA, AARP, and the Homemaker’s Club; she was also a volunteer of the Thomas Hospital Auxiliary. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Frank William Engstrom. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Fernandez of Shreveport, LA, Sarah Jones of Beaverton, OR, Kaydene Engstrom of Fairhope, and Paula Chu of Waxhaw, NC; eight grandchildren; brother, Wilbur Havel of Silverhill; along with many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairhope United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Silverhill Cemetery. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion, with a special thanks to Tammie, Miss Edna, and Susan.
