Conrad Delano Silcox

d. November 13, 2016

DAPHNESMSgt (retired) Conrad Delano Silcox finished his earthly journey on November 13, 2016.  He has gone to be reunited with the love of his life and best friend, Yvonne Holladay Silcox. He is survived by three children: Tab Silcox, the Smart One (Kim), Jeffrey Silcox, the Pretty One (Gianna) and Crystal Silcox Jeter, the Favorite.  Six grandchildren: Katie Silcox, Hampton Addiss, Haley Addiss, Gabriel Silcox, Scott Jeter and Josh Jeter. Connie proudly served in the United States Air Force for 25 years, leading his family on adventures across the globe and meeting many wonderful people who became lifelong friends.  He was highly admired by superiors and subordinates alike due to his work ethic and dedication to his profession.  After his esteemed military career, he continued in the aircraft industry, opening three plants along the Gulf Coast over the next 15 years, and inspiring the Pretty One to follow his footsteps in that career field. He loved to pull pranks and spin tales of studies that may or may not have occurred.  His favorite hobby was having his children and grandchildren perform cheap labor on his pecan orchard.  Incidentally, his children now hate pecans, and there is a pecan cracker for sale ($3000 OBO). Upon the Smart One’s acceptance to Auburn University (and Yvonne’s insistence), he became an avid tailgater and fan of Auburn football, following the Tigers at home and on the road. He enjoyed sitting on his swing with the Favorite One while watching the seasons change, solving the world’s problems, and seeing the grandchildren grow.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Belforest Community Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at Belforest Civic Center. A special thank you to Covenant Care Hospice and Continuing Care in Daphne for their care and support.
