Marcia Jan Miller

FAIRHOPE, ALAugust 7, 1931 – November 12, 2016 Marcia Jan Miller, departed this world for greater life on November 12, 2016 surrounded by her family. She graduated with the Murphy High School Class of 1949 as Jan Morrisette. On December 28, 1953 she married John Clement “Jack“ Miller and celebrated 60 cherished years of marriage cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide and sharing together in the ministry of the Church through their love of Jesus Christ. Affectionately known as “Grammy” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jan was beloved by her family as a wonderful mother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, The Rev. Jack Miller, and is survived by her daughters: Lynn Talbert (The Rev. Keith Talbert) and Amy Garner, four grandchildren: Anne Stevens (Brad), John Talbert (Leslie), Tully Garner and Lindsay Garner, and three great-granddaughters that she adored: Grace, Lilly and Emma. Jan lived a life full of ministry to others. She welcomed everyone she met with loving arms and cared for people across all stages of life. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 16, at Saint James Episcopal Church, 860 North Section Street, Fairhope, AL 36532. Family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00am in the Parish Hall of Saint James Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a generous donation to a charity of your choice to honor Jan’s lifelong commitment to serving others.
