DAPHNE, AL Rose May Kelly Vredevelt, age 96, a native of Berkley, CA and a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016. Miss Rose was a member of Daphne United Methodist church for 21 years. She was a Pink Lady with the Thomas Hospital Auxillary and a member and volunteer at the James P. Nix Center. While living in California, Rose retired from J. C. Penney. She and her husband William grew almonds in California before retiring again to Maryland. Rose was preceded in death by her husband William Vredevelt and son, William Hugh Vredevelt. She is survived by her daughter, Cheri (Jerry) Forte of Daphne; grandchildren, Adam (Janet) Becker of Arlington, VA and Shannon Becker of Alexandria, VA; two great grandchildren, Miranda Stothard and Gillian Stothard; many other relatives and friends. Celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Daphne United Methodist Church, Monday, November 7, 2016, at 11:00am. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00am until the service time.
