Margaret Owen

FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA Margaret Dorricott Owen born February 17, 1927, in Powderly, Alabama in her parent’s family home. She is the youngest of four children to Fredrick Dorricott, II and Mary Robinson Dorricott. She passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Mrs. Margaret Owen was a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church. She was fondly referred to as; “Mayor Margaret” of East Gate Subdivision and was editor of their monthly newsletter for over twenty-two years. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hubert Owen, brothers, Fredrick Robinson Dorricott, III, George Edwin Dorricott, William James Lloyd “BJ” Dorricott all of Birmingham, AL; and a son-in-law, Russell Fischer of Grass Valley, CA. She leaves behind her three children, Linda Gail Owen Fischer of Grass Valley, CA, Charles Richard Owen of Wasilla, AK and George Edward Owen ( Shuet Mui) of Kodiak, AK. Margaret also leaves behind one granddaughter, Suzanne Marie Owen of Charlotte, NC; Margaret Owen also leaves behind three nieces, and two nephews, Marcy (Dorricott) Jones of Santa Rosa, FL, Keith Dorricott of Wake Forest, NC, Glen Dorricott of Melbourne, FL; Deborah Jane (Dorricott) Coleman of Birmingham, AL and Betty Phillips of Saraland, AL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 2:00pm at the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00pm until time of the service. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association or Kindred Hospice Foundation, 9805 Millwood Circle, Suite D, Daphne, AL. 36526.
