Janella Wood Pollard

FAIRHOPE, AL Janella Wood Pollard, age 76, a resident of Point Clear, AL, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was a graduate of Murphy High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Alabama. Janella taught at Craighead Elementary School and retired from St. Luke’s Episcopal School after 17 years. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Junior League of Mobile and a Mystic Society in Mobile. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Pollard and her parents, Isaac Vernon Wood, Jr. & Janella Jackson Wood. She is survived by sons, Vernon Ridings Pollard of Point Clear and James Edwin Pollard, II of Fairhope; grandchildren, James Edwin Pollard, III and Oliver Starke Pollard; brother-in-law, Robert Lewis Pollard (Mavis) of Clinton, MS; brother-in-law, Major General Samuel Ernest Fleming, Jr. of Tupelo, MS; niece, Marcia Fleming Hammett; nephews, Dr. Samuel E. Fleming III (Mary), Stephen M. Fleming (Janice); great nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, October 28, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016, 11:00 AM at Magnolia Cemetery, in Mobile.
