SPANISH FORT Freddie Edward Betz, age 87, a native of Cincinnati, OH and a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Fred was in the Navy Reserves and Coast Guard Auxiliary.  He was a member and former Elder at the Gulf Shores First Presbyterian Church, Gulf Shores, AL and former active member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Cincinnati, OH.  Fred was on the Gulf Shores Water Board for many years and a prominent architect in Cincinnati and northern Kentucky for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Fern Marie Betz; two children, Dennis Betz and Cynthia Kroeger. He is survived by his wife, Sue Luck Betz of Spanish Fort, AL; daughter, Tami (Michael) Taylor of Daphne, AL;  two stepdaughters, Rebecca Luck of Loxley,  Lynda Stansbury of Clearwater, FL;  thirteen grandchildren, Tara, Raechel (John), Sonya (Dan), Bret (Emily), Jamie (Mike), Laura, Jessica (Steve), Benjamin, Jacob, Nathan (Carmen), Jennifer, Joshua, Jessica (Derrick) and twelve great grandchildren. A Celebration of Freddie's Life will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 at 2:30 PM 2016 at Gulf Shores First Presbyterian Church, Gulf Shores, AL   A Celebration of Life service will be held on August 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM Westwood First Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gulf Shores First Presbyterian Church or Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
