FAIRHOPEPat Buck, a longtime resident of Fairhope, had her last glass of wine on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, surrounded by her family. Always gracious, she also possessed a wildly mischievous streak and a quick wit that always seemed to appear at exactly the right time. She was a wonderful role model for her children, teaching them everything about the bay life, her fabulous cooking, love of gardening and she was always ready to lend an ear if someone needed to chat. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Paul Buck, Jr., her parents and two of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Daneen Buck, who she always described as “mean as a snake”, son, Ken Buck, the self-proclaimed favorite child, and daughter, Jennifer Buck, who she described as “sweet as pie”. Other survivors include her three grandchildren, Bailey Wiggins, Kendall Buck, Kip Buck and daughter-in-law, Deanie Buck, with who she shared a special bond; brother Jeff (Lisa) Garner, sisters, Anne Crozier and Terry (Gunter) Kilian. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives of nefarious character. She was the owner of Battles Wharf Mini Mart for more than 20 years, where she became acquainted with so many wonderful people that were considered friends instead of customers. She later became the goodwill ambassador of Buck’s Diner, where she not only shared her famous banana pudding, but also spread cheerful words and positive vibes to all who crossed her path. Cremation will take place at the family’s convenience and the ashes will be distributed on the grave of Paul Buck, Jr., and in Mobile Bay. As per her request, the will not be a formal ceremony or memorial, but a simple gathering of any and all friends and family on Monday, June 20, 2016, under “The Family Tree” at 5:00pm. The address is 10613 County Road One, Fairhope, AL 36532. Special thanks to Sheneva Jackson for taking care of Pat in her time of need.
