Fairhope, AL Urte Doepner Bollen, 75, widow of Harold Ross Bollen, passed away May 30, 2016. She was born in Konigsberg East Prussia to Gerhardt and Erika Doepner, graduated with a degree in architectural engineering in the early 1960's in Berlin where she met Ross, whose government service led them to also live many years in Heidelberg and Munich Germany and Washington DC. While in D.C., Urte worked in real estate sales and property management on Capitol Hill. After his retirement they lived for over 20 years in Fairhope AL, their longest, continuous residency and home. Urte was an active member of Master Gardeners of Baldwin County, she delivered Meals on Wheels for Ecumenical Ministries, and was a member of Rare Editions Book Club. Urte is survived by a sister and brother-in-law Heide and Francisco Meinke, a brother and sister-in-law Frank and Ingrid Doepner, all of Lubeck Germany; a nephew Joerg Meinke of Hamburg Germany; and their many friends throughout the US and Germany.
