FAIRHOPE, AL Rita Evelyn Rabon Wilson, age 75, a native of Montgomery and a resident of Fairhope, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Walter “Bunky” Wilson and Wayne Bell. Rita was a ’58 graduate of Convent of Mercy High School. She received a Batchelor of Science in Bio Chemistry at Springhill College, class of “62. Rita worked 12 years as a medical technologist for Providence Hospital and spent the Bulk of her career, “thirty years” as Plant and Chief Chemist at Ideal, Holnam and Holcim Cement. Rita worked on her father’s Fishing Charter Boat as “1st mate”. She danced through the fifties with “Dixon on Disk” and WALA televised sock-hops. She was an accomplished hunter with a long-bow, an avid Hobie Cat sailor “Fleet 76”, PADI, Certified Diver. Rita is survived by her 2 sons, Devlin (Kim) Wilson of Mobile, Derek Wilson of Daphne; grandchildren, Dakota Wilson, Logan Wilson, Sydney McCormick, Tera Lane Wilson, Gavin Dean; brother, William (Rita K.) Rondal Rabon, Jr.; a host of other loving relatives and friends. A Celebration of Rita’s life will be held, Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the Lake Forest Yacht Club, 1 Yacht Club Drive, Daphne, AL. 36526 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rita’s memory to The Haven, 559 So.
