Charles E Holt

FAIRHOPE, AL Charles E. Holt, age 82, a former resident of Chattanooga, TN and a resident of Fairhope, AL since 2007, died Monday, May 23, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Charlie was born on November 30, 1933 in Winchester, TN to R.J. and Eunice Holt. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Fairhope, and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class which was very supportive during his illness. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Matthews; brother, William (Bill) Holt; and sister, Mary Joyce Davis. He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Chuck (Robin) Holt; daughter, Chris (Duane) Baker; brothers, Andy and David Holt; three grandchildren, Taylor and Houston Holt and Delia Matthews. There will be a celebration of Charlie’s life at First Baptist Church, Fairhope, on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Colony Cemetery, Fairhope.
