Mary Walker

Mary Gayle Hightower Walker went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. She leaves behind her loving husband, C. Wayne Walker; son, Grant David Walker; sister, Suzy Hightower Bellamy (Gary); and brother, John William Hightower III. She also leaves her two beloved cats: Junior Skittles and very special gift, Barkley. Mary is predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John William Hightower Jr. (Sylvia). She also leaves behind a large contingency of awesome friends as Mary was well known as a “friend collector”. Mary was born in Marianna FL in April 1957. She was a graduate of Dots Tots Kindergarten, Marianna High School, Chipola Junior College and a proud graduate of Harrison School of Pharmacy of Auburn University. She began her pharmacy career path at her family’s third generation Marianna “drug store” Hightower’s. Mary was an active member of Fairhope United Methodist Church, Page Turners Book Club, and was the former co-chair of the Eastern Shore Outdoor Art Show. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary at Fairhope United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm with the Celebration of Life to follow at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the David Duchene Scholarship Fund through the United Methodist Foundation – P.O. Box 8066, Dothan AL 36304.
