FAIRHOPE, AL Mary Emma Potts passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at her home in Fairhope, AL. She was born to the late William Lindley and Mary Augusta Ervin in Inverness, MS. She volunteered for over 30 years at Thomas Hospital, played an active role at St. James Episcopal Church, served on a beautification board for the City of Fairhope, and on the Central Gulf Coast Episcopal Diocese. She was preceded in death by Horace Newton Minnis and Herbert J. Potts. Mary Emma is survived by her daughters, Mary Lynn Reynolds (Vern) and Augusta Jones; grandchildren, Karen Reynolds (Bruce), Kim May, Rachel Castle (Lyman), George Durant (Lynn), Ann Rossi (John), Herbert Durant (Lori), Jacqueline Marsh (Chuck), William Durant; twelve great grandchildren; nieces, Mary Clair Gildea, and Ann Middlebrooks. A celebration of Mary Emma’s life will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. A reception will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shepard’s Place, St. James Episcopal Church, or Thomas Hospital.
