DAPHNE Jean Watkins Bay, a longtime resident of Daphne, Alabama, died March 8th, 2016. She was born in Anderson, South Carolina on August 10th, 1937, the youngest daughter of Margaret Orr and John Crispen Watkins. Jean was a graduate of Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina and the College of Charleston. Throughout her life, she was a teacher, an entrepreneur, a mother and grandmother. She was devoted to the children she taught in English as a Second Language programs in Baldwin County, as well as in South Carolina. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope, Alabama. She is survived by her sons – Michael W. Bay and his wife Allyson Hajdu; and Robert C. Bay, his wife Jeannie, and their two sons Luke and Daniel – and her sisters, Barbara Watkins Davis of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Sara Watkins Nielson of Fairhope, Alabama. A Celebration of Jean's life will be held, Friday, March 11, 2016 at 3:30 PM at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope.
