Marcella Parker

PARKER SUMMERDALE, AL.   Marcella Grass “Cella” Parker, Age 80, a resident of  Summerdale, AL passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at a local hospital.   Cella wore many hats over her years of employment, some of which included Poser Printing, Chemstrand, and Vanity Fair. She retired from Gulf Telephone Company after many years of service as a telephone operator.   She was a charter member at Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church for over fifty years and a member of Fairhope Community Church. Cella was an active member of the  Marlow Community where she took pride in maintaining the flower bed located at Hwy 32 and County Road 9. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary 5660 of Fairhope, AL.   She is preceded in death by her husband, Fonso Parker. Survivors include two daughters, Susan K Johnson and Cecila (Mickey) Havard all of Summerdale, AL; two sons, Billy Kent Johnson of Summerdale, AL and  Jeffrey (Alice)  Johnson of Ocala, FL; one brother, Andrew Jack Grass of Water Valley, MS; sister-in-law, Iris Hayes of Foley, AL; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.   Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11:00a.m. at the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service  beginning at 9:00a.m.   In lieu of flowers Cella did request that  memorials be made to the Chelsea Lynn Garvin /Marlow-Fish River Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 178, Summerdale, AL. 36580 or  The Lighthouse Women’s Shelter, P.O.
