Mildred Ward

FOLEY, ALMildred Downing Ward, born February 24, 1932. Mrs. Ward went home to be with her Lord after a long illness of Alzheimer’s on February 25, 2016. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. Mrs. Ward retired from Fovil Manufacturing Co. She was devoted to her church, Gulfway Assembly & charter member of Foley First Assembly. She will be dearly missed by those she mentored, cared for, knew and loved her. She now has a new and well body in heaven, no more sickness. She is able to have a new life and happiness with Jesus. A special thank you to Amedysis Home Health Care and Nurse Robin with Community Hospice for the loving care to our Mother. We will miss and always love you for the great Mother and Wife you were to us. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Carl J. Downing; parents, Fred and Gertrude Cochran; brothers, Wilford Cochran, Morris Cochran, Ray Cochran; and sister, Lois Powell. She leaves to cherish her precious memoires, her sole surviving brother, Frank Cochran (Janice); husband, Bobbie Ward; children, Ken (Sheila) Downing, Brenda (John) Govan, Douglas (Karan) Downing; grandchildren, LTC John (Shelly) Govan III, Christopher (April) Govan; great grandchildren, Avery Govan, Gracie Govan, Annie Govan and Jack Bradley Govan; nieces and nephews. The family will receive family and friends at Gulfway Assembly, 541 Cotton Ck. Drive, Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 2:00 until 3:00. A celebration of her life will follow at 3:00 pm.
