Marjorie Merrow

MOBILE, AL Marjorie Taliaferro Bonner Merrow died on February 23rd, 2016, in Mobile, Alabama, where she had lived for the last 50 years. Marjorie was born in Putnam County Georgia, and graduated from Mercer University in Macon. She was a longtime teacher in Catholic schools in the Mobile area, and an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church for many years.She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Randall Merrow, Jr., her parents, Ellis Hudson Bonner and Sarah Jones Bonner, and sisters, Elizabeth, Louise, Joyce, Blanche, Eleanor, and brothers, Pierce, Everett and Hudson. She leaves behind her children Marjorie Marcet of Ottawa Lake, Michigan; Ann Lofaro (Ron) of Orange Beach, Alabama; and, Randy Merrow (Liz) of Mobile, Alabama;  grandchildren Ben Cushman (Christina) of Daphne, Alabama; Franklin Johnson of Mobile; and Samantha Merrow of Mobile, and, great-grandson Greyson Cushman of Daphne, Alabama. She is survived also by her brother, Sidney Bonner (Joyce) of Richmond, Virginia, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of the Allen Memorial Home, Kindred at Home Hospice, and Murray House Assisted Living.   A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, located at 1050 Azalea Road, Mobile, AL 36693 on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Paul’s Methodist Church, c/o Mike Jones, 130 Long Shoals Road, Eatonton, GA 31024, or to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Mobile.
