Jo Ann Pierce

Sep. 11, 1937 - Dec. 31, 2015 Jo Ann Pierce, a native of Prichard, AL and resident of Silverhill, AL, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31st after complications from surgery. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Verna Elliott; sister, Peggy Elliott; and beloved son, David Pierce. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Billie Pierce, and daughter, Sherrie Pierce of Atlanta, GA. Jo Ann was a graduate of Vigor High School class of '55. She was the head Librarian in Jackson, AL early in her career and then later retired after many years as a medical transcriptionist where she had once served as the state of Georgia chapter president. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Robertsdale, AL. Jo Ann loved Alabama Crimson Tide football and Mobile Mardi Gras her entire life. Jo Ann was a vibrant and lively woman who was loved by many relatives, friends, and neighbors from across the country. Visitation will be held on Jan. 4th from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home Daphne, AL. A chapel service at 11:00 will be followed by the burial at Gulfcrest Cemetery.
