Gregory "Greg" Wayne Ray

BAY MINETTE Gregory Wayne Ray, age 65, a native of Maryland and a resident of Bay Minette, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015. He is retired from the State Department of Education Transportation and a former Deputy Sheriff of Charlotte Co. FL. Greg enjoyed the love of his family. He especially enjoyed taking his sons and grandsons hunting, he loved to travel and was an avid reader. Greg loved the Lord and was always ready to witness for Him. Greg and Lillie shared a Special Love that’s so rare, they adored each other. He has made so many Special friends throughout the state of Alabama as well as the country. Each one special in his own way. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Lillie Ray; children, Michael Ray, Andy (Alison) Ray, Richard Knowles, Kimberly Brooks; brother: Tom (Kay) Perryman; sisters: Barbara (Charlie Pohl), Rindy (Greg) Larrison, Phyllis Ray; grandchildren: Caroline Ray, Bryant Ray, Joseph & Bret Knowles, Makailah Brooks; a host of other relatives and friends. Greg’s family expresses a special “thank you” to Dr. Meshad, Dr. Hixon, Gina, Louann, Skylar, Ruth and all those who cared for Greg during his long battle with cancer.
