Faye Alderman Cobb was born on March 13, 1932 and died on October 19, 2015 at Westminster Village, Spanish Fort, Alabama. She is survived by her children: Gary Stephen Cobb (Linda) of Theodore, Alabama, Lisa Cobb Morrison (Steve) of Fort Myers, Florida, Lori Cobb Robinson (Kenneth) of Fairhope, Alabama, and Mark Allison Cobb (Dorothy) of Thomasville, Georgia. She was affectionately known as Nana by her surviving grandchildren, Kristin Brooke Cobb, Kelly Marie Cobb, Matthew Stephen Cobb, Ryan Michael Butler (Editha Anne), Bailey Alyn Robinson, Caroline Rossiter Cobb and Henry Portman Cobb and one great-grandchild Alexander Jordan Ramos. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Allison Stephen Cobb, Jr., her parents, Franklin Hiram Alderman and Viola Wood Alderman, and her siblings Bonnie Davis, George Alderman, Jay Frank Alderman and Francis Mabeline Conner. Born in Freeport, Florida, Faye Cobb lived much of her life in Pensacola, Florida, Cumming, Georgia, DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Spanish Fort, Alabama. Throughout her life, she was active in the Baptist churches where she lived; she taught Sunday school, training union, Bible study participant, committee member, and a GA leader. Most recently, was a founding member of Jubilee Baptist Church in Daphne, Alabama and a member at East Pointe Baptist Church, Spanish Fort. In addition, she was an avid writer who was an active member of the Dixie Council of Authors and other similar groups. Her articles, stories and poems were published in numerous area newspapers, magazines, and trade publications including Guide Post Magazine, West Florida University Literary Review, Pensacola News-Journal and the DeFuniak Herald Breeze, and she was recognized with several local and regional awards. She published a book, Even for a Season, a true story based on her neighbor’s struggle with cancer as well as a collection of family recipes and antidotes. She was a proud graduate of Pensacola High School class of 1950. She loved spending time with her family and many supportive friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Alabama at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. A graveside service will follow at Bayview-Fisher Pou Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gentiva Hospice, 9805 Millwood Circle Suite D, Daphne, AL 36526.
