Robert Gary Brantley, 59, beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on June 28, 2015, at a healthcare facility in Lake Charles, Louisiana. A native of Daphne, Alabama, Robert had, for the past 20 years, called Lake Charles, Louisiana his home, where he resided with his beloved wife, Dee (nee Donnelly) Brantley. Robert was a merchant seaman with a career that spanned four decades, and until recently, he sailed out of the Lake Charles Citgo terminal on the Seabulk Trader oil tanker. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Brantley, and his grandson Connor Farkas. He is survived by his wife, Dee (Lake Charles, Louisiana) and his mother Evelyn Brantley; his brothers Bo (Brenda) and Mark (Brenda); his sisters, Joann Mastin Ruffin (Elton), Patsy DeFilippi (Tony), and Kathie Stacey(Don); two sons, Eric and Bryan Brantley and grandchildren Angelina, Michael, Autumn, and Lacey Brantley. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at the Daphne Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at 2:00 pm, and the service will be held at 3:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to share happy memories of Robert.
