FAIRHOPE Ollie Rix Threadgill, Jr. of Fairhope passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015. Rix was born on November 5, 1941, in Mobile, son of the late Ollie Rix Sr. and Isabel Henderson Threadgill. He taught for more than 30 years at Fairhope High School and served as a lay pastor at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Mobile for over 20 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Riggins Threadgill, daughters Mary Margaret (Steve) Stone, Amy (Brian) Randall, Christina (Bruce) Gooden, Anne (Stephanie) Threadgill, Kathryn Threadgill, and Sarah (Kelley Fincher) Threadgill, and sons Michael (Tracey) Threadgill, John Threadgill, Rix (Leigh) Threadgill III, Stephen (Maribel) Threadgill, Robert (Cari) Threadgill, Benjamin Threadgill, and Quinton Threadgill, 16 grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Damrell Bain and Beth (Rick) Valliere. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Spanish Fort Presbyterian, where he was a longtime member.
